A Project Template allows you to specify a set of Project attributes, including list of Team Members and Tasks, that can be referred to and copied over when creating a new Project. There are two methods to create a Project Template: i) from an existing Project, or ii) from scratch
Regardless of method used to create a Project Template, ensure you edit it and adhere to the following guidelines:
Create a Project Template from an existing Project:
- Open a Project record (e.g. from Projects > Projects) that you would like to base the Template on
- Click the Project Extended Menu > Copy this Project to Template
- Notice the newly created Project Template form opens, with the attributes of the original Project pre-populated. Edit as required:
- The template’s Title is prefixed with “Copy of”; edit the Title for ease of Project Template search and reference
- The Task Status Code is set to DATAENTRY; edit the Status as required
- Click the Save icon
- This template is now accessible for use, and visible from the Projects > Template List
Create a Project Template from scratch:
- Go to Projects > Template List
- Click on the Add icon
- Notice the newly created Project Template form opens, with default title “New Project”
- Edit to rename the Title of this Project Template, and fill out relevant attributes, details, Team Members and Tasks, as required
- Click the Save icon
- This template is accessible for use, and visible from the Projects > Template List
