Track time spent on a Service Call, a Project Task, or a Sales Opportunity
You may add your Time Bill record in a few ways, from the
- Call / Task / Sales Opportunity form itself, or
- View > My Tasks, or
- Resource Console
Time Bill against a Service Call
- On the Service Call form, click on the Time Bill icon to start a Time Bill
- Click OK on the pop up window to confirm
- The same Time Bill may be stopped by clicking the Time Bill icon again
- Changes to fields on the Time Bill may be made by clicking the EDIT icon, making the changes, and then clicking the SAVE icon
Time Bill against a Project Task or Sub Task
- On the Project Task form, click on the Time Bill icon to start a Time Bill
- Click OK on the pop up window to confirm
- The same Time Bill may be stopped by clicking the Time Bill icon again
- Changes to fields on the Time Bill may be made by clicking the EDIT icon, making the changes, and then clicking the SAVE icon
Time Bill against a Sales Opportunity
Time billing against an Opportunity allows you to track the amount of time spent working on that Opportunity
Time Bill from the Opportunity record
- Open an Opportunity record
- Click the TIME BILL icon. A “Start Time Bill” window will open
- Click OK
- A Time Bill record will open. If any edits need to be made, click the EDIT icon, make desired changes and then click the SAVE icon
- To stop the Time Bill, open the Time Bill and click the TIME BILL icon again. A “Stop Time Bill” window will open. Click OK
Time Bill from My Tasks
Start / Stop a Time Bill from My Tasks list
- Go to View > My Tasks and locate a Task of type “Opp Task.” Click on the Time Bill (clock) icon in the TB column
- A “Start time bill” window will open. Click the OK button. Note: Category is a required field on this form.
- To stop the Time Bill, click the Time Bill (clock) icon again. A “Stop Time Bill” window will open. Click OK
Time Bill from a Project Task or Sub Task
Time billing for Tasks and Sub Tasks is useful when someone not assigned to the Task needs to account for time spent on that Task
From a Task or Sub Task
- Open the Task or Sub Task you want to bill time to, and click the Time Bill (clock) icon. A Start Time Bill window will open. Click OK. A Time Bill record will open which may be edited if needed
- To stop time billing:
- Open the Time Bill record and click the Time Bill (clock) icon. A Stop Time Bill window will open. Click OK
- The system populates the time billed value with the difference (in hours) between the End Time and Start Time
Create Time Bills for Multiple Team Members
Alternatively, use the Project Team Time Entry to potentially create multiple Time Bills against a Task or Sub Task for Project Team Members with one “save” click action:
- Go to Projects > Project Team Time Entry
- Fill in the details for the time
- Start Date / Time, Project and associated Task
- Notice the Time Bill Category / Subcategory, Wage Type are pre-filled based on the settings for the Task (if defined). Otherwise, you may edit
- For each applicable Team Member in the Time Entry grid, enter the corresponding “Time Billed” value (in hours) directly in the cell
- Click Save icon
Time Bill from Resource Console
- Locate the Sub Task on the Resource Console grid
- Click on the appropriate icon to start a Time Bill for this Task
- Click on the appropriate icon on the Sub Task to stop this Time Bill, OR use the Start/Stop column in the grid below OR start any other Task Time Bill, which will stop the previous Time Bill
