In v22.01+, users may customize columns in core portions of Q360 using options on the new “Grid Columns” tab and the enhanced “Related Tables”/”Grid View Columns” tabs.
Prerequisite: Must be a system admin user to use this feature–changes you make are global.
Customize Core Grid Columns:
- Within desired grid, right click and select Customize Grid. Customize grid View/Columns form window will appear. Note: Grid currently being modified is listed in “Grid Name” field near top of this form.
- Click on Grid Columns tab.
- To modify a caption, double click within the cell containing the caption to be modified, and type new caption.
- To exclude a column from this grid, select the checkbox in the “Exclude” column next to the name of the column to be excluded.
- To manipulate column attributes such as display type, filter type or sort type, click on the hyperlink in the “Column Attributes” column and fill in fields on the pop up window that appears.
- Click Save.
Reset a previously customized grid column:
- Right click in the appropriate grid and select Customize Grid. Customize grid View/Columns form window will appear. Note: Grid currently being modified is listed in “Grid Name” field near top of this form.
- Click on Grid Columns Tab.
- Highlight one or more grid items.
- Click on Extended Menu and select Reset Selected to Core Definition.
- Save.
Join tables via Related Tables Tab:
- Within desired grid, right click and select Customize Grid. Customize grid View/Columns form window will appear. Note: Grid currently being modified is listed in “Grid Name” field near top of this form.
- Click on Related Tables Tab.
- Use checkboxes in Include column to select tables to combine.
- Note: In order to combine two or more tables, each table must be have its own distinct Alias. To change an Alias, simply double click inside the cell and type the new Alias.
- Save.
Add a Calculated Field
- Within desired grid, right click and select Customize Grid. Customize grid View/Columns form window will appear. Note: Grid currently being modified is listed in “Grid Name” field near top of this form.
- Click on View Columns Tab.
- Click on Add Button and select Add Calculated Field.
- In pop up window, choose Display Type, and fill in Field Name and Caption.
- Add SQL Text in SQl field (Ex. MoneyfieldA-MoneyfieldB).
- Click Confirm to save.
