Project Task Grid Header Fields:

| Projected Hours | Sold hrs + CCO Hrs + ICO Hrs (see full description) | The number of hours brought into the project from the original sale (L type items), approved CCO’s containing labor hours (L Type), and approved ICO’s containing labor hours (L Type). Ideally, these will equal Target Hours. This value equals the Projected column on the Profit tab. |
| Target | Manual Entry | These are the total number of hours which the Project Manager (PM) plans to use (targets) which form the labor baseline of the project. This field is manually updated by the PM. It is typically equal to or less than the Projected Hours. If greater than the Projected Hours, either an ICO or CCO is recommended. At project creation, the Projected and Target hours will be equal. As the project progresses and CCOs and ICOs are applied, these values will differ. |
| Scheduled | Sum (hours scheduled to labor types on all tasks) | These are the total number of hours scheduled to labor types on all tasks. These hours and their placement in the calendar drive the Labor Forecast Summary. Scheduled hours should not exceed the Target. They may be less than the Target, based on the length / phase of the project, where the Project Manager has not scheduled to the entire target estimate. |
| Assigned | Sum (number of hours that are assigned to specific resources on all tasks) | Assigned hours should be less than or equal to the quantity of Scheduled hours. Assignment usually follows Scheduled, as resources may not be known at the time of scheduling the task (planning). Scheduling can encompass all of the tasks across the entirety of the project’s duration, whereas Assignment is based upon typically a 1 week to 2 month look ahead – based on the length of the affected tasks and the certainty of the project’s resource requirements and associated resource availability. |
| Actual | Sum (amount of effort hours that have been time billed and posted against the project) | Actual equals the total amount of effort hours that have been time billed and posted against the project. Ideally, these should be less than or equal to Assigned hours. This value equals the Actual column on the Profit tab and is used to calculate the Earned revenue column located on the Profit tab. |

| Target | Imported Value | These are the number of hours imported from the order at the task level listed in the order. These are often in alignment with the WBS template in the Material Grid and used to estimate labor. After initial import this field update manually. |
| Rem. Target | Target – Sched. Effort | This value is calculated by the difference between Target and Sched. Effort and can be either a positive or negative value. This field is not editable. |
| Sched. Effort | Manual Entry | This value represents the estimated scheduled effort per task within the date range specified on the task. Effort may be scheduled at the parent task level or at any level within the nested subtasks. This manual entry ultimately drives to the labor forecast reports – the Project Labor Forecast and the Labor Forecast Summary. |
| Tot. Sched. Eff. | Sum (Sched. Effort) | This value represents the sum of the Sched. Effort per task and is a calculated field. At the parent task level, this will calculate the sum of the subtasks. At the nested subtask level, this value will match the Sched. Effort. This should be equal to or less than the Targeted effort – if not a CCO or ICO may be warranted. |
| Assigned | Manual Entry | This value represents the estimated scheduled effort assigned to an individual resource per task. This entry correlates to the Resource Console – and ultimately drives one aspect of the Resource Utilization report. |
| Tot. Assigned | Sum (Assigned) | This column represents the total sum of the effort assigned to the resource(s) within the tasks. Should be equal to or less than the Total Scheduled Effort – if not a CCO or ICO may be warranted. |
| Rem. Sched. Eff. | Scheduled Effort – Assigned | This value represents the difference between the Scheduled Effort and the Assigned effort on each task and can be either a positive or negative value. This field is not editable. |
| Tot. Rem. Sched. Eff. | Scheduled Effort – Assigned (Note: Parent Task) | This value represents the difference between the Scheduled Effort and the Assigned effort on each parent task and can be either a positive or negative value. This field is not editable. |
| Actual | Sum (time bills) (Note: For this task and nested tasks) | This value represents the actual number of hours (effort) time billed and posted to this task by project team member(s). |
| Tot. Actual | Sum (parent task time bills and nested task time bills) | Total posted time bills for this task and all of its nested subtasks (if any). |
| Rem. Assigned Eff. | Assigned – Actual | This value represents the Assigned hours remaining to be time billed against this task. |
| Tot. Rem. Assigned Eff. | Sum (remaining Assigned Effort for this task and all of its nested tasks) | Sum of the “Remaining Assigned Effort” column for this task and all of its nested (sub) tasks (if any). |
